How We Got Started
Dave Jenkins was working in the multifamily industry when he realized there was a growing need for a better utility management and billing solution.
Though there were a few companies out there providing some utility services to the multifamily industry, they lacked the customer service and customizations that property owners desired.
With an extensive background in HR, Dave formed Conservice in 2000, knowing that in order to succeed, employees must be valued and motivated to share their ideas. With just 2 employees in 2000
to over 500 employees today, it is clear Dave had the right idea.
- exceed expectations
- continuous improvement
- no surprises
From day one at Conservice, new team members are taught four Conservice tenets: accountability, exceed expectations, no surprises, and continuous improvement.
These values are the foundation of the company, creating a forward-thinking work environment with a focus on doing the right thing for our customers and our team.
Our emphasis on new ideas and process improvement allows us to constantly develop new solutions for our clients in a positive work environment where each team member is valued.

Why We're Different
We've asked our customers what makes us stand out from other utility management companies in the industry.
This is why we're different:
We know that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t always work. That’s why we are dedicated to providing a utility billing and management program that works for each of our clients.
We also love client-driven innovation. If a customer has an idea for a new or improved service, we listen.
And because we have a full team of in-house software developers, we have the ability to rapidly develop and release new services, reports, and solutions.
When you call a customer service line, do you prefer to be greeted by an automated system with a complicated menu,
or a knowledgeable customer service representative who can help you right away?
At Conservice, we like talking to people, not machines, so our customer service team answers the phone when residents call our customer service line during our extended business hours.
We’re multilingual too, making it easy for all residents to get the information they need.
Property managers and leasing agents can reach their Conservice contact directly for immediate assistance, ensuring a smooth line of communication.
We know responsiveness is important, and we make it a priority to get you the information you need, when you need it.
Utility billing can be complicated – but we make it simple for you by providing expert regulatory support and legal assistance.
Our team of full-time attorneys and associates is led by Marc Treitler, who has over 16 years of experience in the multifamily industry.
Property owners and managers rely on Conservice to identify regulatory restrictions that might impact their billing program, review and provide assistance with drafting leases,
provide compliance research, and keep their communities compliant with all laws and regulations.
A utility management program is always more successful when all members of the organization understand it.
Though our goal is to leave utilities completely to Conservice and out of the leasing office’s hands,
we do provide excellent tools and resources for property managers and site owners to utilize that will give them a clear understanding of the financial,
environmental, and operational benefits of Conservice. That’s why we provide training to each new customer, and allow all existing customers to be retrained as needed.
Conservice is one of the largest providers in the country and has demonstrated the ability to efficiently handle entire portfolio rollouts with a proven
transition process that ensures prompt and correct billing and utility processing the first month and every month thereafter.
Our reputation has led to our rapid, organic growth – leaders in the multifamily industry trust Conservice to manage their utilities.
