How We Got Started

Dave Jenkins was working in the multifamily industry when he realized there was a growing need for a better utility management and billing solution. Though there were a few companies out there providing some utility services to the multifamily industry, they lacked the customer service and customizations that property owners desired. With an extensive background in HR, Dave formed Conservice in 2000, knowing that in order to succeed, employees must be valued and motivated to share their ideas. With just 2 employees in 2000 to over 500 employees today, it is clear Dave had the right idea.

Meet The Team

Dave Jenkins (President & CEO)

Dave was working in property management when he recognized the need for a better utility billing solution in the multifamily industry. He founded Conservice in 2000, relying on his HR background to attract a team of talented employees to grow the business.

Dave still oversees the daily operations of the company, fostering a unique work environment where employees are encouraged to share their ideas. Dave received a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in human resource management, both from Utah State University.

John Dorsey (Chief Sales Officer)

John is a leader in focusing on identifying and meeting the varied needs of our clients. Since 1997, John has been working in the multifamily industry, and he has developed a thorough understanding of the ins and outs of utility management and billing. He remains involved with client accounts long after the deal has closed. After completing his undergraduate degree at Arizona State University, John received a master’s degree in international business from Grand Canyon University.

Marc Treitler (General Counsel & Vice-President - Regulatory Affairs)

Marc is widely known as the foremost expert in all aspects of utility management regulatory issues. He currently serves as co-chair on the board of directors of the Utility Conservation Coalition. He works to identify legislative opportunities and supports lobbying efforts to ensure the best interests of multifamily owners and managers are protected. He often attends key legislative meetings and hearings and participates in drafting legislation. Sample lease language written by Marc has been published in legal handbooks. After receiving a BA degree in economics from UCLA, Marc earned both a JD and MBA from the University of San Diego.

Greg Cole (Chief Financial Officer)

Greg Cole has been with Conservice since 2003, where he now serves as Chief Financial Officer. He has been instrumental in creating several custom accounting processes that are used by Conservice, including payment processing tools. Greg received an MBA and an accounting degree from Utah State University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Cary Brzezinski (Vice-President - Business Development)

With over 12 years of experience in the multifamily industry, Cary is known for his ability to effectively develop and maintain strategic partnerships. He is skilled at developing utility billing and management solutions that meet the specific needs of each management company, and especially the student housing market. He holds both BS and MS degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies from UT Dallas.

Jerry Davis (Vice-President - Sales)

Jerry effectively leads all sales operations for Conservice. With over 13 years of experience, he is one of the most experienced sales associates in the industry. His ability to foster true partnerships allows Conservice to effectively meet and exceed client expectations. Jerry is actively involved with NMHC as well as NAA on the state and national level. Jerry holds an undergraduate degree from Midwestern State University and an MBA from Baker University.

Aimee Cox (COO Billing Services)

Aimee began working for Conservice in 2003 and currently oversees all utility billing operations within the company. Aimee has overseen the development of a number of utility billing solutions, including quality control enhancements to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness for our clients. Our Military, Campus, and HOA solutions were all also developed under her leadership.

Matt Miller (COO Utility Services)

Matt began working for Conservice in 2003 and currently oversees all utility management operations within the company, including the SyNERGY, REO, OPTIMyZE, and Conservice Energy programs. Many of Matt’s ideas have become full Conservice offerings, including Conservice Energy and the SyNERGY sales tax audit service, SyNTAX. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and an MBA from Weber State University.

Coleen Sawaya (Director Military Solutions)

Coleen has worked in the utility management and billing industry since 1996. In 2005, she began working with the military utility housing program, quickly becoming the leading expert in the military privatization program. She came to Conservice to head our Military Solutions program in May of 2012, bringing extensive knowledge of the nuances of military utility billing, including baseline and utility allowance methodologies. Coleen has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University and an MBA from National University. She also holds a Green Belt in Six Sigma.

Rich Seeley (Director Information Technology)

Rich has led the IT department at Conservice since 2006, ensuring his team always has the tools and skills necessary to develop and fine-tune customized solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Rich is an industry expert in seamless data integration, allowing the Conservice programs to easily integrate with nearly any property management software. Rich holds a bachelor’s degree in business information systems from Utah State University.

Training

A utility management program is always more successful when all members of the organization understand it. Though our goal is to leave utilities completely to Conservice and out of the leasing office’s hands, we do provide excellent tools and resources for property managers and site owners to utilize that will give them a clear understanding of the financial, environmental, and operational benefits of Conservice. That’s why we provide training to each new customer, and allow all existing customers to be retrained as needed.
